FAQ & troubleshooting
Quick fixes for the most common questions about subscriptions, purchases, iCloud sync, the referral program, and your data.
How do I manage or cancel my Pro subscription?
PLANZ Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID, so it's managed by Apple — not inside PLANZ. To view, change, or cancel it:
- On iPhone / iPad: open Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → PLANZ.
- On Mac: open the App Store → click your name → Account Settings → Manage next to Subscriptions.
From there you can switch between monthly and annual, or turn off auto-renew. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. There's no free trial to cancel — the free tier is the trial.
I upgraded to Pro but it's not showing — how do I restore purchases?
PLANZ Pro is a single Universal Purchase that covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. If Pro isn't recognized on a device:
- Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID that bought Pro.
- In PLANZ, open the paywall / upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases.
- Confirm your subscription is active under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- If it still doesn't appear, fully quit and reopen PLANZ, then try Restore again.
Still stuck? Email us with the Apple ID region and the device you're on and we'll help reconcile the entitlement.
My tasks aren't syncing across my devices. How do I fix iCloud sync?
PLANZ syncs your tasks, routines, and availability through your own iCloud (Apple CloudKit) — there's no separate PLANZ account. If devices disagree, check the following on each device:
- You're signed in to the same Apple ID / iCloud account everywhere.
- iCloud Drive is on: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → make sure iCloud is enabled and PLANZ is allowed to use it.
- The device has a working internet connection.
- You're running a recent build of PLANZ on each device.
Sync is eventual, not instant — give it a minute or two, and try backgrounding and reopening the app to nudge a refresh. New tasks can take a moment to appear on a second device.
Note: custom categories created on one device may show as "Other" on a brand-new device until that device receives the full sync. This is a known limitation and resolves as data propagates.
How does the referral program work?
You can earn ad-free and Pro access by inviting friends — no payment required. Share your referral code (in PLANZ: Profile → Referral), and when people join with it you unlock rewards:
- 1 referral — 1 month ad-free
- 3 referrals — permanent ad-free
- 5 referrals — 1 month of Pro
- 10 referrals — Lifetime Pro
Lifetime Pro is earned through referrals only — it's never sold as a purchase. Rewards are granted after a referred user has been active for at least 3 days. Self-referrals aren't allowed, and each user can redeem one code. Abuse (fake accounts, automated redemptions) may result in rewards being revoked.
Have a code to redeem? You can use the join page or enter it in the app.
How do I delete my account and data?
PLANZ uses anonymous authentication — there's no email, name, or password attached to your account. You can delete your anonymous account and its associated cloud data (referral records, shared-plan membership, and device tokens) directly inside the app:
- Open PLANZ → Profile → scroll to the Danger Zone → tap Delete Account & Data and confirm.
This removes your server-side data. Your task data lives on your device (and your own iCloud); deleting the app from a device removes its local copy, and turning off iCloud / deleting from iCloud removes the synced copy.

What does the free version include, and what's Pro?
Free includes unlimited tasks, full auto-scheduling, Brain Dump, the Home timeline, and 1 focus session per day. The free tier is ad-supported — with optional personalized ads you control via the App Tracking prompt. The free caps are on power features:
- Up to 3 recurring tasks
- Up to 4 templates
- Up to 6 custom categories
- 1 focus session per day
Pro removes those caps and unlocks Weekly Insights, the Week Planner, Export Schedule, the full Focus tab and Flow mode, and Shared Plans. There's no countdown trial — use the free tier as long as you like and upgrade when you're ready, or earn Pro through referrals.
Voice dictation, microphone, or Apple Health isn't working
Voice dictation uses Apple's Speech framework and runs on-device on iPhone and iPad, so your audio stays on your device. If the mic button doesn't respond, the permission was likely declined. To re-enable it:
- Microphone & Speech: Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone (and → Speech Recognition) → enable PLANZ.
- Apple Health (Mindful Minutes): Health logging is opt-in and write-only. Manage it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → PLANZ.
These features are optional and declining them doesn't affect the rest of the app.
